Everything was happening so quickly! The dancing was done. The cake was eaten.
The toast had been made and we had said hello to all of our guests. It was 1:30 p.m. and it was time to make our exit. I couldn’t believe it was time to go already – where had the morning gone? It literally flew by. In fact, it’s one of the few regrets that I have about the day – that there wasn’t a lot of time to mingle with guests. I never wanted a long, drawn out event. I wanted it to be elegant, beautiful and short. And that’s what I got, it just seemed so much shorter than I thought it would.
We made our way to the front lobby. When guests had arrived and signed the guestbook, they had taken a bottle of bubbles that had been placed on the table.

So when we exited, everyone had their bubbles ready.

I love how these shots include the hundreds of bubbles in the air.

(Either everyone was glad to be rid of us or they were just having a lot fun blowing those bubbles!)

We had rented a beautiful black towncar to take us around for a couple of hours. This picture shows our driver, whose name escapes me, as he held open our door. He was such a nice guy and so patient with us considereing we didn’t really know where we were going.

My mom and dad waving goodbye – I love this picture because they look so happy.

As you can see, I was pretty happy too. Of course at this point, the exhaustion from both the lack of sleep the night before and the events from the day was starting to catch up with me.

Waving goodbye.

We had the car for two hours, just long enough to have our pictures taken in various places around the city. So we settled back into the leather seats and breathed a sigh of relief – the hard part was over! A few more pictures and we were honeymoon free!
