This was one of the best Christmas’s ever!! So great to have family around you and everyone was truly thoughtful in the gifts that were given. Can’t help it if I cry over sentimental things – my heart is so touched by the love and care that goes into these special gifts of the heart. The monkey shoes were something else – never seen or heard of them before. Sure hope our new son-in-law enjoys them and it’ll be interesting to see him wear them at family gatherings in the years to come!!! Thanks for giving us the chance to enjoy these moments again!!!

Madison – that’s so nice of her and I agree, it’s the thought that means so much. Just that she cared enough to go out of her way for you…

Erin – congrats – a girl! I’m so excited for you and I think that was a terrific Christmas gift. And what a creative way of “unveiling” it!!

Alzo – great idea too. I love that you customized her iPod for her so that she could use modern technology to listen to music that she enjoys from her youth. Very nice.

My mother is 86. Like most older folks, she struggles a bit with technology. However, she is willing to try and regularly sends emails and even checks out blogs like this one sometimes. For Christmas, we helped my Dad give her an iPod that was loaded with her favorite music from the 40s, 50s, and 60s, as well as some of her favorite TV shows such as Lawrence Welk and Beverly Hillbillies. She loves it! Now, we plan to load a bunch of family photos.

I LOVE that keepsake box. I am going to have to remember that and do one next year.

The best gift I (we) got this year was opening our envelope and finding out that we are having a little girl!! We had our 20-week ultrasound a couple days before Christmas so we requested the tech not tell us the sex but put the picture of the “parts” in an envelope along with a note letting us know it’s a boy or a girl. Then we hid the envelope under the tree and opened it on Christmas. It was also a present for our families, as they were dying to know also!

My favorite gift was from my mom’s boss, a iPod nano. She even included a gift card. My mom has worked for her for years, and she always surprises us at Christmas time. It was my favorite becaus I WASN’T expecting that at all! That’s what made it so special. I didn’t care how much money she spent, all that mattered was that she thought about me.

Annemarie – I hear you about that! They’re funny looking but apparently quite comfortable. I’ll have to take his word on that.

WofO – so glad you liked it! And definitely get the Wii and the Fit so we can do it together!

Jenna – Wasn’t that keepsake box sweet? I took out some of the “love letters” recently and it was so cool to read. I’m definitely going to have to keep some of that stuff for my little ones one day.
