We are on Month #2 trying, and after that first month of TORTURE, we have decided to not think about it and just...ummm...do it. Timing, and Temping, and am I ovulating? Are you going to be home tonight? We have to "do stuff" tonight...and when are you going to be home so we can...ummm...do stuff?!

It was too much. Hopefully things will be calmer this month and from now on...what's meant to be will be.

There is something so exciting about the pregnancy test scenerio. My tubes were tied 3 years ago and we were a bit afraid last fall.....we were convinved that something had gone awry. My husband went and bought it after we had shared this secret all night between ourselves (the five kids were not aware of what was going on in our world). We were taking it out and even though we had said we didn't want any more (and we really don't want anymore)......we got kind of used to the idea in those couple of hours.

The test was negative, of course.....and I think we were both somewhat disappointed. We had grown used to the idea in that short amount of time....

My tubes will stay tied but I think neither of us would really be that upset is something did go wrong down the road. I doubt if it will but the anticipation of not knowing for sure and having that moment cummulate while gazing down at the white stick waiting for a line to show up or not show up-----THOSE are anxious moments full of so much hope and wonder.

Ahhh......

I know exactly what you're going through right now! The trying, hoping, waiting, taking tests, etc. My husband and I got pregnant not long after we were married ( 10/2008 ), but it ended up as a miscarriage. The last few months since then have been emotional for me, but I know that God is in control and that He'll send us a little one when He thinks we're ready for it!

This post made me laugh -- My husband and I are in our first month "flying without a parachute" and I just got my first (and hopefully last?) negative test. It was too early (read: I was too impatient), so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't get my period in the next few days and can test again.

Come check out our "his and hers" blog... http://thisplaceisnowahome.wordpress.com/

So, it took me 13 months to have our baby boy, who is now 8 months. In that 13 months I TTC by myself (well with my husband too:) but couldn't so we were put on Clomid (a fertility drug), we got pregnant two months later, then miscarried 10 weeks later, then when we started trying again we successfully got pregnant 3 months later. Since having little man we had a surprise pregnancy, which also resulted in a miscarriage, but I will cowboy up in a couple of months and take the goalie out of the net again - I want my brood:)

There is a great site you can get hosiptal pregnancy tests for CHEAP. I went through a bunch each month, and this saved me a fortune!!! 25 Pregnancy strips for $11.25, and the same for Ovulation tests (which really helped). The site is: www.saveontests.com. I just landed on your blog from Mormon Mommy blogs and I love your blog, very snazzy! Anyway, GOOD LUCK:)

It took us 3 years - almost exactly.
We couldn't understand why it didn't happen the first couple of months. We charted, we took temperatures, and eventually after 12 mths visited out GP and got a referral to a specialist. We then spent 18 mths having investigations and tests (nothing wrong with either of us) and undergoing treatments. When the last IUI treatment failed in November we knew it was time to get serious. Our next options were IVF and / or adoption and we had an appointment early Jan to discuss these options with the consultant.
I don't know if its because the time was right, or because we had stopped "trying" to conceive or what....and I prefer not to question really - but two days before Xmas I discovered I was pregnant :)
I am now 16 weeks and expecting our baby in August.
All the heartache of the last three years is forgotten and we are just so blessed and excited to be where we are today.
I truly hope it happens for you soon and will keep my fingers crossed that it does. But if it takes a while don't lose hope and don't let it take over your lives. Stay cool :)

This is hilarious! I totally get it. I convinced my husband we should start trying to get pregnant but it was already a little late in the month for me. Still, I was analyzing everything wondering if I was in fact pregnant... and my period was a week late! We got pregnant the next month. I wouldn't take the test until my period was at least a week late and it showed a positive result within seconds.
