Dealing with a premature baby is not easy. Women go through a lot of pain and struggle during pregnancy only with the hope to see a healthy baby delivered. But when someone delivers a premature baby it takes a lot of courage to accept the fact and deal with the concequences especially when the doctors do not have a lot of hope for the baby.

I totally know how you feel! I thought I was pregnant almost every month EXCEPT the one I actually was pregnant. I just "knew" I wasn't pregnant. I have really irregular cycles and I was on day 54. My symptoms were exactly like when I get a really heavy period (bloating, sore breasts, and tired). The hubby said I was probably pregnant and I kept telling him, trust me...I am NOT pregnant. Well, one night I finally broke down and bought a pregnancy test because that is always how I would get my period to show. Every time in the past that I took a test my period would come the next day. Imagine my surprise when it came up POSITIVE as soon as the pee hit the stick. Guess I didn't know my body as well as I thought. The symptoms I had were just like PMS. (Never had morning sickness or other traditional symptoms.)

I just wanted to say good luck. I just stumbled upon your blog today and the "pregnancy" topic caught my eye. It took us 6 months after 2 miscarriages to get pregnant with my first child. I hate to say that it does sounds like you maybe have been pregnant but it didn't take. There was definately a time that i thought i might be pregnant while we were trying, same kind of symptoms.
 I'll be hoping for you!!

The hardest part for me when I was TTC was getting through the days between perceived ovulation and getting my period/testing positive. I have a 3 year old who took a year to conceive and am pregnant with twins after trying for about 2 years or so. My frustration came from feeling that there must be a correlation between my heightened awareness of my cycle and actually getting pregnant. As if being more aware made it more likely for it to happen. Aside from a general idea of when to have sex, how much of this process could I honestly control?

In addition, the only way I knew I was successfully pregnant was by taking a pregnancy test the day after I missed a period. I never experienced pregnancy symptoms prior to testing, including implantation bleeding - in fact it took weeks with this last pregnancy to have the sore breasts, fatigue and nausea. You'd think with twice the pregnancy hormones it would have been unbearable.

Is it possible to be in TTC mode and not have it preoccupy you to some degree? Probably not. But we do have choices in how we react to the process. In retrospect, I wish I'd been a little easier on myself. I wish you all the best!

Oh! And one other thing which I think helps... try and resist the urge to pee on a stick too early..:) Most women do not have enough HCG to register until @ 12-13 days after ovulation. For my first pregnancy it took me until 3 days after a missed period to show! For the last (sadly my miscarriage) it showed positive only 12 days. So it varies each time. I also learned that spending tons of $$ on the tests in the drugstore was not worth it. I would test early and often and get discouraged. If you do feel the need to sneak in a test (he he) the Dollar Tree tests truly work just as well. Who knew?

There is a website that was so fun to visit when I peed on the stick and was wondering 'Is this positive it's sooo faint!' many positives can be faint (just read the stick in the allotted time on the box directions for true results) and instead of holding it to the light and squinting I would hit that website for some pics/examples of what a postive test looked like for the brand of test i was using..

Website:

Peeonastick.com

Has FAQs as well. Enjoy:))))

Sorry this was so long!

no time to read all the comments here.. I was excited checking in and seeing 'pregnancy updates..' happy for you.. but then saw this. Could well have been a chemical pregnancy, etc.

I have one son almost 2 and we are trying for one more. I had a miscarriage 2 months ago (supposedly many women have at least one, plenty do not even know they had one and just think they are getting a heavier than usual period) all cold comfort when you want a baby.

I would say 'try not to worry' but us TTC'ers know better:)

Try this site, which helped me SO much "

www.twoweekwait.com . It RULES.

Might I add a suggestion? I drank plenty of grapefruit juice with my first one (helps increase good cervical mucus, very good for sperm) and I also ordered 'PRESEED'. Most lubricants are seriously damaging for sperm. Also a doctor developed this stuff, it is truly amazing. Go to preseed.com for testimonials. People with years of TTC who get prego on the first, or second cycles. I am not connected to the product just have told friends to try it (only $14 so why not) and 2 friends got prego using it. Luck? Maybe. Can't hurt. And the whole lay down (pillows don't matter according to my OBGYN) for at least 20 minutes after. Try the preseed though.

Ok, best of luck and this will be an adventure! I hope you have good news for us soon enough:)))

I can totally relate. Every time I thought I was pregnant, I wasn't. I even went so far as to see a doctor because I still couldn't believe what I was feeling was normal. The 2 times I did get pregnant, I didn't have a clue. Good luck!

I'm sorry.

I used to keep a stop of pregnancy tests around. It was because I always panicked. If I was a day late, I'd take a test just to be sure. My first pregnancy I had no idea what was the matter with me. I thought I had mono or something. Second time around, I knew with my first dizzy spell.

Best of luck in this month.

I have accidentally read this page yesterday...and what a relief this has been as we are going through the same thing. Also, I am amazed how you answer to every post, so please you don't have to answer mine...poor thing! Anyway, I guess we just assumed the minute we're going to start trying we'll going to get pregnant--mostly when everybody else around us got pregnant and they did not even know it--but we have not...and we have not been to the doctor yet as it has been only three months. I learnt and appreciated some of the posts as some ladies did make a point that it's better we did not think we were nad then misscarried...that would have been worse. Well, we'll keep on trying and then reading/writing on these support groups blogs...and next year we'll share pictures with the new babies! oh, and we tried the ovulation predictor....yeah...not recommended. Good luck to you!
