The past few weeks have been busy in our home, what with me working during the Memorial Day weekend and with the CPA working in Liechtenstein for a week. With everything going on, we realized we needed a vacation and fast. So a few days ago, we hopped into our car and headed north. We passed through small towns along the way to see their various attractions. Only in small towns can you find covered bridges like this one:

or courthouses like this:

Sometimes I forget that such grand and beautiful buildings can be found outside of the DC beltway.

While we were in Pennsylvania, we also went to the 9/11 crash site of Flight 93,

which was simply heartbreaking.
Finally, after twelve long hours, we reached our destination: Canada. For someone like me, who has only left the country once, going across the border was a big moment.

We were there to see the Niagara Falls, which was another first for me.

It is just as amazing as you think it’s going to be.
But we couldn’t stay long because we had more traveling to do. Our other adventures included a visit to Palmyra, NY, which is a place of huge significance in our church.

And then we moved on to Fayette, NY to see the place where the church was first organized.

We finally finished our journey in the lovely Cooperstown, NY, home of Baseball’s Hall of Fame.

We stayed near the lake and enjoyed quiet walks around the town before getting in our car yesterday to head back home.

We got back last night just in time to unpack, eat dinner, and go to bed. Which is why you are getting the Cliff Notes version of our trip this morning. But don’t worry, I shall soon have pictures uploaded and ready to go.
Because I know how exciting it is to view other people’s vacation photos…
What did you do this weekend?
