Monday Musings: One of Those Days

Do you ever have one of those days (or weekends, as the case may be) where you just can’t do anything?  Where your list of to-do items gets thrown out the window and you spend your entire day sitting around in your pajamas?

Yep, that was my weekend.  I literally just shut down and didn’t leave the house.  Between getting my braces put on earlier this week and then being sick the remainder of the week, I just couldn’t do it.  I couldn’t put on a brave face and act like everything was okay when I could barely function.

So instead, I spent the last two days sipping Ginger Ale, eating hot soup and massaging my sore gums.  And sleeping, lots and lots of sleeping.   And you know what?  I’m slowly starting to return to the land of the living.

I’m not quite there yet though.  In fact, I’m debating whether to go into the office today or not.  But at least I’m considering it, which is more than I did yesterday.

Who knows, today I may even make it out of my pajamas!

I kind of wish I had a weekend like that. We had my parents and sister, her husband, and their kids over Saturday for a barbecue birthday/Father’s Day thing. Then my parents stayed the night. They everyone and then some went to my grandparents’ house (an hour away) for my grandmother’s birthday (may be her last). So its been busy and now I’m ready for a weekend not to have to go to work. :)

You were smart to give in to the lassitude. I really think that sleep and rest are the best ways to heal. Hope your back on your feet soon.

I agree with hokie deb – everyone is allowed a slack weekend and if it was as hot in your area on Saturday as it was here, being inside in the AC in your jammies was the place to be!

I vote for staying home and resting up, personally. If you get out of those pajamas, you are a better woman than I! Just take care of yourself and take it slow; the office will still be there tomorrow =) I hope you feel better soon!

Good for you to take a break! I hope you feel better.

Today I am supposed to leave to meet Brian in less than an hour. I still have to shower, nurse the kiddo, and get us ready to go. Will it happen? Dunno. It’s one of those days over here too. :)

Aww, hope you are feeling better… sounds like you are beginning too. Sometimes we all just need that nice pajama time to rest and re-coup. Enjoy every moment you get of it! It will be back to work in no time, I’m sure.

One of our favorite phrases is “every now and then you need a veg day”. It’s our favorite way to justify being completely and totally unproductive for a day :)

Hmm, is it wrong to feel jealous? Cause I confess, I feel jealous… not the being sick part, but the pajamas and sleeping part.
    I hope you feel better!
