What Will Our Boy Look Like?
Tue, Jan 5, 2010
While putting together my baby shower a couple of months ago, my sister asked me if I had any baby pictures of the CPA and me. I had plenty of me – no problem. But it wasn’t until that moment that I realized I didn’t know what my husband looked like as a little boy.
And suddenly, I just had to know.
So I contacted my sweet mother-in-law and asked her if I could borrow some pictures of her son.
She sent me a whole stack.
I opened the package and gasped in delight. I should have known, but it was nice to see my suspicions confirmed – my husband was (and is) adorable! (Side note: Look at those long legs – and here I wonder why my belly is poking out the way it is? All I have to do is look at these pictures to find the answer!)
Let’s start with the CPA at four months old – what a happy baby!
At 10 months old, you can start to see what he’s going to look like as he grows older.
(How cool is it to see those old cars in the background? Got to love 1955!)
This next picture was taken when he was one year old. I wish he still had that hat! Go Davy Crockett!
Next we get to see him with his brothers. He’s the third youngest out of four boys (his sister came last).
Seriously – don’t you just want to squish his little cheeks?
Now he’s starting to get a little older, as we see in this Christmas photo from 1956. And he’s got a little brother too, so he’s no longer the youngest.
(He’s in the white pajamas in front.)
Here we see him as he’s maturing and being the big brother to his youngest sibling.
What’s really neat about this next photo is to see how much he looks like his dad. This picture shows all the boys together with the CPA sitting beside his dad’s left knee.
I can hardly handle the cuteness!
We can’t leave out his mom because that just wouldn’t be fair. Besides, she’s the one who gave birth to all these little guys so she definitely needs some credit too!
(The CPA is the one wearing the gun belt – a popular accessory for little boys at that time.)
Before moving to the school pictures, I have to include one of all the boys in their suits. How adorable are they?
Next we have the first of the school pictures – here is the CPA long before he became a CPA, all the way back in 1961. He was seven at the time.
Then again a year later in 1962…
and lastly, in 1964 at 10 years old.
Be still my heart. That is one sweet little boy.
It’s funny to look back and see what my husband looked like as a little one. It’s even more amazing to try and imagine which of his characteristics our little guy will have. Will he have those pouty lips that I love? Will he get those cute little ears that stick out ever so slightly? Or will he have his long eyelashes and pretty hazel eyes?
These are some of the things that I can hardly wait to find out. But with these pictures, at least now I have an idea.
Who do your children look like – do they favor one parent more than the other in their looks?

How fun! You will find yourself looking at these baby pictures and trying to see who your little guy looks most like. BTW, the CPA looks a lot like his dad!

Genes are a fascinating thing. I don’t think any of our kids looks like just one person. They are all an interesting mix of my husband and I with bits and pieces of different relatives

Charlotte is the spitting image of Donald. When she was born, my mother-in-law e-mailed me a photograph of my husband at three months old. The only difference was the top half of the ears. My husband’s ears have been the subject of many a joke for over three decades. His entire family kept saying “oh, look, she got your ears. THAT IS VERY VERY GOOD NEWS.” lol.
Now that she’s older, I am starting to see more that she gets from me. She has slight dimples (although it’s still tough to see them since her cheeks are so scrumptiously round) and her eyes have a similar color composition to mine. Her hair is blonde with tints of red, which also comes from me (the blonde is from both of us, we were both towheaded little kids). So at first I thought she’d look just like Donald, but now I’m thinking she might be a good mix between the two of us. Who knows; we’ll see!
I can’t wait to find out who your boy looks like =)

I wish you had posted this before Christmas, so I could have asked Joe for a gun belt.

Jack is such a weird mix…he actually looks a lot like my sister! haha! It’s hard to tell with Lily so far, but I think she looks more like me. Although she definitely has Bo’s eye shape!

Love the pictures! So cute
I don’t have children so I can’t say what they look like, of course…but I look like my mom, my husband looks like his dad. I just hope our kids are cute, LOL.

What cute photos! I particularly love the one of the three boys on the couch- where the CPA’s legs barely extend past the edge of the couch, and it’s clear his brothers are having to hold him still for the picture.
I don’t have any kids yet, but I know that I have my dad’s fair skin, strawberry blond hair, & blue eyes on exactly the same 5′4″ body type as my mom (she even weighed the same as me at every age I’ve been since I was a teenager!). And my personality is a mix between the two, introverted, with my mother’s pragmatism & my father’s knack for books/academics.
My sister is the exact opposite of me in almost every sense of the word. Growing up, most people did not believe we were sisters, because we were so completely opposite. She has my mother’s olive skin, dark brown hair, and dark brown eyes, and, at 5′10″, my father’s height. She is an extreme extrovert, and while she is quite smart, she is drawn to aesthetics more than academics. She has inherited 100% of my dad’s passionate personality, impulsivity, and his quick temper too. It’s amazing that such different people can come from the same gene pool.

I’ve been searching for the answers to this question for ages, but I can’t seem to find your FAQ or something: what does “CPA” stand for?
I’m excited to see if your baby boy will look like him!

I don’t think our kids look more like either of us. They all look related though–they have the same cute little nose and Justin’s brown eyes. My middle child looks a lot like my sister. The baby looks a lot like she did at that age too.

I can’t WAIT to see what our little guy/gal will look like. I’m hoping he/she gets my husband’s beautiful blue eyes and tan skin. Benjamin was also an incredible adorable child (as was I, if I do say so myself!), so I can’t wait to see what our little science experiment will look like.

What a cutie the CPA is and I can’t wait to see the blend of the CPA and you when your little guy arrives. He’s going to be SO beautiful!!! These pictures are really great and I do appreciate the ones of both his Dad and Mother. The CPA really does favor his Dad a great deal. I know you’re anxious to have this little one arrive soon to hold and to finally see just who he favors. He’s going to be a great blend of you both – a really good looking young fellow. Can’t wait…this Nana is SO anxious for his arrival!!!

Love the pictures!!! Wow 4 boys and one little sister. They all look so much alike, love it.
My boys favor their daddy very much, except for my blue eyes and dimple chin!!
