Remember my diaper bag dilemma of a few months ago? How I was looking for the perfect bag that would hold everything and yet not cost too much? Well, after months of searching, I finally have my bag. Make that plural – bags. I realized that I could settle on just one.
In fact, I have four diaper bags. Before you gasp and ask what on earth I need four bags for, let me say that one of those bags I bought on eBay months ago in a fit of excited bidding. And I only paid $20.00 for it so I’ll use it as a fun summer bag. That makes it okay, right? (I am the queen of rationalization.) It is the Reese Li bag as shown below except that it is in brown.

Now on to my day-to-day bags. First I bought one that is rather large and will hold lots of stuff and most importantly – is unisex. This is key if I want my husband to change the diaper. I don’t want him to use the excuse “I can’t carry that bag into the men’s room” as a reason to get out of a diaper change. Therefore, we have this bag from ebags.com ($31.00). We’ll use this one when we’re out and about doing the fun things we used to do like our downtown trips or while running errands.

For my daily out-and-about trips to the store or to a friend’s house, I use this bag from Timi & Leslie:

I have to admit that it was a bit pricey for me at $120, but it’s such a cute bag and I really like it (plus I was able to use my Christmas money from my wonderful mother-in-law, thanks Mom!). Cuteness aside, I do wish that it was a bit more user-friendly. Something that I’ve learned in the past couple of months is the necessity of being well organized when having your little one with you outside of the home. When he’s crying and screaming, the last thing you want to do is waste time digging through a bag to find a pacifier.

I love this bag because you can stuff so much into it. In fact, it would be great as a non-diaper bag too. But because it’s a hobo bag, it is somewhat slouchy and does not have a lot of shape to its insides. That means that little things like pacifiers and small toys can get lost at the bottom.
I do like that it has stroller straps which make it super easy to attach to the handlebars of the stroller, that’s a definite plus. And it’s a light-weight bag which is a necessity since it is filled to the brim with baby goodies. I just wish those goodies were a bit easier to get to.

Which brings me to my last bag, my all-around favorite diaper bag, the Baby Kaed Noinoy. I use it when I want to dress up a bit or when I’m going to church.

I only recently started using it because I couldn’t decide if I liked the quilted look or not. I thought the quilts made it look too much like a Vera Bradley bag for my tastes (no offense to VB lovers) so I wasn’t sure. What finally won me over was the structure of the bag.
It can stand on its own without falling over and it’s made of a fake leather material which means it’s fairly lightweight. But best of all, the inside is beautiful, absolutely beautiful. It is a light color with lots of useful pockets. And I can find things – I can actually find things – they stay exactly where I put them!

The only downsides are that there are no stroller straps so I have to stretch the straps to fit around the handlebars and there are no feet on the bottom which I prefer in order to protect it from scuffs and scratches. But there are several outside pockets which are perfect for keys and easy-to-grab bottles.

This is definitely my favorite bag, hands down. I bought it from ebags for the bargain price of $103. A bit expensive, yes, but I love it and I’m hoping it’ll be worth the money.
So far, these bags are just what I need. I’m sure at some point I’ll find my needs change, maybe as Henry gets older, but for now, I’m set in the bags department.
What kind of diaper bag do you use?
