I look at people like the Pioneer Woman and Sarah from Becoming Sarah and I think, “How do they do it?” How do they write day in and day out and always have something interesting to say? Are they moms by day, super heroes by night? That’s the only way I imagine that they have something exciting to talk about.
I, by comparison, must lead an incredibly boring life. I get up in the morning, eat breakfast, play with Henry, maybe take a picture or two or a hundred, put Henry down for a nap, run an errand in the afternoon, fix supper, spend time with my sweetie, and then call it a day. Not that I’m complaining, mind you. I love my life. It just doesn’t feel very noteworthy sometimes.
I even purchased one of those cool journal apps for my computer with the hopes that it would spark my creativity and get me in the mood to recount all the vivid details of my day. But alas, there it sits. Unused. Unwritten in.
But that’s okay. I figure that not having something to write about isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Besides meaning that my life is going smoothly, it also means that nothing too crazy is happening. No Carbon Monoxide scares and no gallstone issues (that’s what my endoscopy unearthed. I guess I could write about that but really, who wants to read about gallstones?).
Now that I think about it, not having something to write about isn’t all bad. But don’t worry, I’ll keep writing. Even if it’s not terribly exciting.
I’m not a superhero, you know.
Thank goodness!
