I am such a cliche. I’m sitting down with my computer in hand ready to write my list of goals. I realize that something like 99.9999 percent of people leave their New Year’s resolutions behind by February, but I can’t seem to help myself. I feel like if you don’t have goals or plans, you can’t get anything done.
At least this year I’ll keep it fairly simple:
1) Get pregnant.
2) Get pregnant.
3) Get pregnant.
There, that wasn’t too hard.
Okay, maybe there are a few more I should add. I wouldn’t want it to seem like getting pregnant is the only thing I want to do all year because it’s not. I have a lot of business goals I want to accomplish to see my business grow and to continue to develop my technical skills. I want to take better care of our house and I want to be a better mother and wife. Then there’s the ever-popular ”get healthy” goal that’s on my list every year. And we can’t forget the “write more blog posts” goal, that’s an all-time-favorite.
What it boils down to is that I want to be a better person. And today, January 2nd, seems like the perfect time to start making changes where they need making. So I’ll start small and I’ll be realistic. I’ll be kind to myself and not get upset if I mess up here or there in the process. I won’t create too many expectations so that I don’t feel like a failure when I fall short. And I’ll be understanding if and when February comes and I have start over again.
That’s the goal anyway.
What about you? Any New Year’s resolutions?
