The Music Man

I know a lot of people do the “Wordless Wednesdays” but, well, I’m not going to do that because I usually have something to say, Wednesdays or not.  I don’t, however, have a lot of cohesiveness today since I’m going off of a few hours of sleep.  Last night was my first night in four days that I went to bed without the use of NyQuil.  Apparently my body didn’t know what to do because I stayed wide awake until 3:30 am.

So I’m doing a “Not-Quite-Wordless-But-Not-Quite-Wordy-Wednesday” post instead.

Today’s subject is Henry, the Music Man.  You know how I may have mentioned a time or two about Henry’s proclivity towards anything music-related?  As such, we signed him up for a music class and the day before it started we broke out his new set of instruments:

We had picked them up from Target and I have to say that I was a bit skeptical at first given that they’re not “real” instruments.  But that didn’t stop Henry.

In fact, he seems to love them.  There’s a tambourine, some bells, some shakers, and a maraca in the shape of a bee:

I think the best part, though, are the drumsticks to go along with the drum itself.

Henry agrees.

Oh – the music class was a success, Henry loves it!  We’re excited to return tomorrow after missing last week’s due to illness.

We can hardly wait.

You do have a cute son. On the first picture with the drumstick, Henry looks as if he were squinting slightly in order to observe the drumstick better. Is that so? My little one does this every time he puts an object in front of his eyes for to inspect it really intensely. In his carseet, sometimes he turns his head to the side to “read” the safety instructions with crossed eyes. It looks hilarious! Your post reminds me that I always wanted to take a picture of this before he stops doing so.

How cute is he with his “instruments”!!! I’m so happy he loves music so much….it’s such a great tool. It instills a love for music which is always good – can help instill calmness, get you going when you have to do a chore, etc. It helps with coordination and counting along with numerous other attributes. The biggest plus is — it’s just such FUN.

Love his pictures….those are the coolest looking drumsticks and maraca (so clever to put in such cute shapes and colors). Can’t wait to see further evidence of his love of the music class. Way to go young Henry – enjoy every note!!!

I love that music set! How sweet! And Henry looks as though he loves it, too. Our little guy has just started singing along to music or when his Daddy and I feel like breaking out into show tunes…! Haha. It’s really cute.

Hi! I found your blog through the Pioneer Woman. I just wanted to say that: 1. I love your blog so far. Cute layout and entertaining to boot! 2. I love that you married later on in life. It’s encouraging and gives me hope! Looking forward to future posts. :)

My goodness Henry is a good looking boy. Glad he’s enjoying the lessons. I did Kindermusik with Hayden and we loved it.
